The Unity (SPACE 1)

A Unity Theatre and Hope Street Limited production

Building on a twenty year tradition Unity Theatre promises families another magical show this Christmas.

Join Sinbad in his colourful bedouin tent as he tells tales of his epic adventures sailing the high seas to faraway lands, meeting giants, genies and sultans along the way. Discover how he was  kidnapped by the wicked pirate captain Kouras, how he discovered the island that was really a whale, fought one-eyed monsters and fell for a beautiful princess.

The Unity Theatre Christmas show has garnered a reputation for innovative adaptations of traditional stories and that is exactly what Sinbad writer Jeff Young has done this year. Elements of the original legend in The Arabian Nights are interwoven with threads from other traditional tales and original material.

The Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor will draw the audience into an exotic eastern world through imaginative storytelling and an inventive use of puppets, props and songs.

Describing the show, Sinbad Director Graeme Phillips said;

“This is traditional storytelling with a transformative twist!

We aim to enthrall and enchant our audiences whilst giving

them plenty of jokes along the way.”
